Obtain the email address of the domain
For this instruction's purposes, a user and an address are functionally equivalent in Purelymail.
Required inputs
- Purelymail administrator account
- funded NearlyFreeSpeech account
Instruction set
- Sign into the adminstrator account.
- Add the domain. You must add DNS Records for the domain in NearlyFreeSpeech; information on each record can be found under the "DNS Records" heading.
- Log in to NearlyFreeSpeech.
- Manage DNS of the domain.
- Add an MX DNS Resource Record.
- Leave Name blank.
- Set Type to MX.
- Set Data to 1 mailserver.purelymail.com., including the final period.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds, the minimum accepted value.
- Add an SPF DNS Resource Record.
- Leave Name blank.
- Set Type to TXT.
- Set Data to v=spf1 include:_spf.purelymail.com ~all.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- Add an Ownership proof Resource Record.
- Leave Name blank.
- Set Type to TXT.
- Set Data to purelymail_ownership_proof=value, replacing value with the Value under the Ownership proof record section in the Purelymail "Add the domain" page.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- Add a DKIM Resource Record.
- Set Name to purelymail1._domainkey.
- Set Type to CNAME.
- Set Data to key1.dkimroot.purelymail.com., including the final period.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- Add a DKIM Resource Record.
- Set Name to purelymail2._domainkey.
- Set Type to CNAME.
- Set Data to key2.dkimroot.purelymail.com., including the final period.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- Add a DKIM Resource Record.
- Set Name to purelymail3._domainkey.
- Set Type to CNAME.
- Set Data to key3.dkimroot.purelymail.com., including the final period.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- Add a DMARC Resource Record.
- Set Name to _dmarc.
- Set Type to CNAME.
- Set Data to dmarcroot.purelymail.com., including the final period.
- Set Time-to-live to 180 seconds.
- After 180 seconds, return to Purelymail. Input the domain into the Name field and check DNS records; ensure the DNS records have been set.
- Optionally allow account reset.
- Set deliver mail to Purelymail.
- Create a user (address) specific to the domain; hereinafter called the domain email address.
- Optionally enable search indexing.
- Optionally add password reset method(s).
- Log in to the administrator email address using webmail.
- Optionally create additional addresses for specific purposes (e.g. inquiries, procurement).
